Five non-basic items to get before they sell out

The current trend of cleaning and detoxing your body, your mind and your closet feels just right. The goal is to streamline and make your day-to-day life more simple, meaningful and enjoyable.

In the wardrobe department the rules are simple:

Make sure you have quality essentials across all categories of clothing and eliminate pieces that don’t feel or look good. Or simply are not “you” anymore. Buy only staples to fill any gaps you may find—and remember, quality over quantity.

Second, limit your new purchases to maximum five non-basic items per season. This fall refresh your closet with earthy tones, animal prints and pops of color. Versatile statement pieces will always make you stand out with a contemporary edge.

SWEATERS

For fall sweaters are my first choice because (obviously….! ) they would get a lot of wear. Assuming you already have the essentials – one black cashmere and one charcoal grey sweater –  I suggest going for a piece that is on trend and will look amazing paired with any old jeans, black pants or skirt you already own.
