5 steps to great skin

Oftentimes I am asked: what cream are you using? what makeup are you wearing? what is your secret?

When it comes to skincare and beauty  there is no magic silver bullet. It is all about being consistent. The day to day skincare routine, how much water you drink, what you eat, how much you sleep, everything plays a role. The sooner you start the better. If you care to feel good about yourself I think its all worthwhile. It’s about doing the right thing. I’ll try to break it up in a few simple steps.

My evening routine  ritual

Make this your “me time”.

I passionately believe that we can transform our daily routines into more meaningful moments -rituals- if we pay more attention to the details

Step 1. Put on some soothing music and pay attention only to what you’re doing. Be mindful- fully aware and present. Don’t think about anything else except your fingers gently massaging your face and neck. That counts as meditation.

Step 2. I take the day off. Makeup, dust, pollution, negative thoughts…

I do a double cleanse. (even if I didn’t wear makeup on that day). Not kidding…. i do that since i was a teenager. Okay, not the double cleansing thing but the take your makeup off part. Right now, I’m using a balm cleanser. I alternate between Eve Lom balm cleansear and Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm  I massage it all over my face, wipe it and then I will wipe again with cleansing water Bioderma® Sensibio H2O until the cotton pad is completely clean. I never use makeup remover wipes. No tap water on my face either,  especially during colder months.  I would spray some rose water to freshen up, Most of the times I would use this Heritage Rose Water and then nourish the skin with a combination of serums; one would be with peptides, because they have the ability to help revitalize skin’s building blocks so it becomes more resilient. Now I use the ExLinea® Peptide Smoothing Serum–  recommended by my aesthetician, mixed with Bobbi Brown ‘Extra’ Repair Serum, that has calming and strengthening ingredients.

Step 3. sometimes, if I feel dry i put a few drops of camellia oil, or this divine Decleor Aromessence™ Rose D’Orient’ Soothing Serum on my palm and massage my face and neck  for a couple of minutes.

Step 4. I would put a few lavender oil drops on my pressure points to relax, and press play on a relaxing playlist -(thanks, Spotify)

Step 5 . light up my favorite candle and curl in bed with a good book.

XOXO, Diana
